Maes-y-Derw is situated on the A484 Carmarthen to Cardigan road on the outskirts of the market town of Newcastle Emlyn in the Teifi Valley.

Directions:
From the South - Carmarthen
Carmarthen has a by-pass, the A40, so you’ll go around the East side of Carmarthen and then head north on the A484. At the village of Cynwyl Elfed there is a turning left onto the B4333 (even though the turning is actually straight on as you look at it!); take this road which is the ‘top road’ to Newcastle Emlyn. Follow this road to the town. Please be careful, there are some nasty bends which could catch you out. As you go over the top of the hill and start to descend into the Teifi valley, you’ll see some stunning views to your right. Stop if the weather’s nice to have a good look. The road is winding as you descent into town. You’ll pass the Cheese factory on your right and shortly after, you’ll come to a T junction; turn left. You are look back on the A484. Go down the road for about a mile. You’ll go out of the 30 mph zone into the 40mph zone, pass a church on your left with white railings and our house is on the left next to the church. There is a sign at the foot of the drive which says “Maes-Y-Derw Country House. If you have any problems, call us on 01239 710860.
From the East – Lampeter
From Lampeter take the A475 to Newcastle Emlyn. Once you get nearer the Town watch for some S bends. Once you approach the town, turn left over the bridge and this will take you through the centre. Once there, take the turning right with the Ivy Bush Pub in front of you. You’ll pass a garage, Jewsons and small fire station on your left. At the T junction, turn right. You’ll be in the 30mph zone and when you pass into the 40mph zone about 100 meters down the road, you’ll pass a church with white railings and our house is on the left next to the church. There is a sign at the foot of the drive, which says “Maes-Y-Derw Country House. If you have any problems, call us on 01239 710860.
From the West - Cardigan
From Cardigan, take the A484 to Newcastle Emlyn. Once you approach the outskirts of the town, after about half a mile, look for a sign on the right-hand side, at the foot of our long driveway which says ‘Maes-Y-Derw Country House. If you pass a church with white railings, you’ve gone too far. If you have any problems, call us on 01239 710860.
From the North
Coming south on the A487 turn left onto the A486. After 14 miles turn right onto the A475 to Newcastle Emlyn. When entering Newcastle Emlyn, turn left at the mini-roundabout and cross the bridge over the river and this will take you through the centre.
